As the Quantity Surveyor on the project, we manage all costs relating to the building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. We seek to minimize the costs of the project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. We can work for either the client or the contractor, working in an office or on-site. We are involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work. When the project is in progress, we may be asked to keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create to show profitability. The major work as part of any QS assignment will be :

• Provide detailed estimates
• Measurement of quantities as per drawings
• Creating Tender documents to be sent for bidding
• Compiling and managing the Tendering process and creating Tender reports
